<p>The companies who have recently joined the London-based <a href="http://www.theclimategroup.org/">the Climate Group</a> include China Mobile, Suntech, Broad Air Conditioning and Lenovo.</p>
<p>According to the Guardian, &#8220;China Mobile has agreed, initially, to reduce energy intensity of its $47bn (about £29bn) annual business by 40%, double the national target.&#8221;</p>
<p>To put that in perspective, according to a Chinese state think tank (<a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/environmentNews/idUSTRE49L0Z920081022?feedType=RSS&amp;feedName=environmentNews">Reuters</a> did not name which one), greenhouse emissions will double or more in two decades.</p>
<p>So the question is: When will that 40% cut be met?</p>
